Marc-André Girardin’s Tête de Moine AOP Classic, made at Fromagerie de la Suze in Corgémont, was crowned «Swiss Champion 2026» in the semi-hard cheese category. It is a remarkable achievement for the cheesemaker and his team at the Swiss Cheese Awards, held in Fribourg from 6 to 11 October.
The competition brought together 1,177 cheeses across 32 categories, as well as a special category for dairy butter. After winning the Tête de Moine AOP category, Girardin’s cheese impressed the super jury in the semi-hard cheese final.
This victory celebrates the craftsmanship and dedication of an entire sector, from milk producers to cheesemakers. It also highlights the close ties between Tête de Moine AOP and its home region. Congratulations to Marc-André Girardin and the whole team at Fromagerie de la Suze on this outstanding achievement!
